2008 - 2009 Board Nominating and Development Committee
Patricia Beckwith

Patricia served on the Girl Scouts of Spar and Spindle Council Board of Directors from 2003-2008. She was Treasurer from 2003-2005, and she Board Chair from 2005-2008. She now serves on the GSEM Board Nominating and Development Committee. Patricia is a Certified Financial Planner with Marcus Financial Advisors, Raymond James Financial Services in Beverly. Her expertise is in developing wealth building strategies for individuals, primarily planning or currently in retirement. Patricia serves on the Board of Directors for the Essex County Estate Planning Council and is a charter member of the Toastmasters Club of Beverly.

Maryann Civitello

Maryann is a partner in the law firm of Mintz Levin in Boston where she practices in the commercial real estate section. She was a board member of the Patriots’ Trail Council from 1999 to 2004, and the First Vice Chair from 2004 to 2008. She also served on the Board Nominating and Development Committee for Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts. She is currently President of the Board of Directors of the Elizabeth Stone House, a Boston battered women’s shelter and mental health facility, and has served on its board for 12 years.

LeAnn Grillo LeAnne has worked with Generon Reos and Generon Consulting for eight years, contributing to a range of projects using the Change Lab and U-Process methodologies, including a community healthcare initiative in Columbus, Ohio, a Fortune 50 corporate transformation process in Europe, and the global Sustainable Food Lab. She is currently a partner.  Before joining Generon, LeAnne was Vice President and Conference Director for Pegasus Communications, the premier resource provider in the fields of systems thinking and organizational learning. She worked at Patriots' Trail Council for ten years in several management positions.  LeAnne has a Bachelor’s degree in Drama from Kenyon College, Ohio.
Jane Howard

Jane founded the transportation consulting firm Howard/Stein-Hudson Associates with Kathy Stein in 1987. HSH encourages the participation and professional development of women and minorities in the transportation industry. Over the past 17 years, Jane has led the firm’s growth to a staff of approximately 45 planners, engineers and support personnel. HSH has won a number of awards both for its planning and engineering work and for its role as an exemplary woman-owned employer. A lifetime Girl Scout, Jane served as a nominating committee member for GSEM and as the Clerk of the Board of Directors for the Patriots’ Trail Girl Scout Council. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Cornell University, a Master’s degree in Community Planning from the University of Rhode Island, and more than thirty years of professional experience.

Dorothy McCormack-Aghai Dot is a life member of Girl Scouts. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and received a MSW from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Work. She has owned and managed a property management company in New Bedford since 1972 and has been instrumental in the planning and development of residential and commercial subdivisions in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. She has served on the Board of Directors and various committees of Tifereth Israel Congregation and the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home. Her Girl Scout experience includes eleven years as a troop leader and twenty years of affiliation with the Board of Directors of Girl Scouts of Southeastern Massachusetts in such capacities as Member-at-Large, Second Vice President, First Vice President, Assistant Treasurer, Council Cookie Chair, Co-Chair of Capital Campaign and Chair of the Fund Development Committee and Chair of the Nominating Committee.
Jane Puffer Jane is President of Dreamaker Consulting Group, which provides marketing consulting to assist entrepreneurs and early-stage companies in high technology achieve their full potential. She has over 25 years of experience in the IT industry and has been a marketing executive in both start-up and Fortune 1000 technology companies. Prior to Dreamaker Consulting Group, Jane served as Vice President of Marketing at Integrated Development Enterprise, and spent 18 years at Digital Equipment Corporation in key marketing management and product development positions. Jane serves on the Board of Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center and Bridgewell. She formerly served on the Boards of the Girl Scout Council of Southeastern Massachusetts, the MIT Enterprise Forum of Cambridge and the Indian Hill Music Center of Littleton. Jane holds a BS in Business Administration from Central Connecticut State University and a MS in Administration from Boston University.
Pat Romeo-Gilbert
 

Pat has a professional background in project management, quality assurance, strategic planning, training and organizational development.   She is a volunteer for St. Lawrence University, having served on the Alumni Council and continuing as an admissions liaison.  She was a member of the merger planning committee for her church.  She supports the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum as a member of the Friends of Fenway Court Development Committee.  Pat has been a girl and then adult member of Girl Scouts for over 20 years, serving on the Board of Girl Scouts, Patriots’ Trail, and as Troop Leader, Encampment Director, Town Coordinator, and on council committees. 

Mary Shapiro
 

As a Professor at Simmons School of Management, Mary focuses on team building and intervention, communicating in a diverse and virtual environment, personal effectiveness in influence, and strategic career management.  For fifteen years she has taught MBA courses on those topics.  As a consultant she works with teams in public and Fortune 500 companies.  In her research and publications, she focuses on women's careers and their relationship with power.  She has an MBA and MS in Economics from Wright State University in Ohio.  She was a troop leader for twelve years, Canton's Town Coordinator for four years, and on the board of Patriots' Trail for six years.

Vilma Thompson
 

Vilma Thompson is an Audit Senior with Acumen Partners, a consulting firm that provides governance, compliance and risk management, internal audit, operations improvement and systems and technology services. She has worked for over 30 years in finance, internal audit and risk management for Neighborhood Health Plan of Rhode Island, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, John Hancock Financial Services, Polaroid Corporation and State Street Boston Corporation.  Vilma has been active in Girl Scouting since childhood.  She served for many years on the Board of Girl Scout Council of Southeastern Massachusetts and its committees.  She is very active in her church and has served on various committees in the local church, at the state level and national settings of her denomination.  Vilma holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Simmons College School of Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Northeastern University.  She is a Certified Internal Auditor and a Certified Bank Auditor.
