2008 - 2011 National Council Delegates
 

Joanne L. Johnson, Newbury, is Chair of the Board of Directors.  She was President of Spar and Spindle Council and co-chair of the Council Realignment Committee.  Joanne is retired from the banking industry, where she spent 35 years with Bank of America and FleetBank.

Ruth N. Bramson, Dover, is the CEO of Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts. Prior to that she was the Executive Vice President of Human Resources for National Grid US. She is an active and a well-known member of the Boston community, working with a particular focus on the advancement of women, urban youth, education, homelessness and domestic violence.

Lou Ann Kelly, Everett, has been involved in Girl Scouts for over 20 years.  She began as a troop leader, cookie mom and treasurer for her daughter's troop in Caribou, Maine.  She is a Membership and Marketing Specialist/Team Leader based in Waltham.  STAFF

Beth Toolan, Salem, has been a professional Girl Scout for 15 years, directing the Lynn Branch office, and was also a volunteer. Beth is Board President of a nonprofit environmental advocacy organization and teaches in the Leadership Department at Northeastern University.  STAFF

REGION 1

Heidi Archibald, Marston Mills, has been in Girl Scouting for 10 years.  She earned the Silver Award working with her troop to help the homeless.  Heidi also belongs to BHS Drama Club and volunteers at a local elementary school.  GIRL

Kera Iolli Arnone, Lakeville, has over 10 years of experience with Girl Scouts. She was involved as a Brownie, a camp counselor, Board Member, and former Treasurer.  She looks forward to leading a Daisy troop as soon as her daughter is old enough.

Deborah Esborn, Sandwich, has been a Girl Scout leader for 12 years and enjoys working with Teen Girl Scouts. She is a kitchen designer, and a member of the Sandwich Writers' Group.

Melissa Healy, Pocasset, has over 10 years in Girl Scouts. She is a troop leader and a organizes community events and the cookie program in her community. She has served as a national council delegate, and is an active member of her PTA.

Mary Ellen Hurley, Hull, has over 25 years in Girl Scouts. She has been a troop leader for 6 years and former staff at Camp Wabasso.  She is currently a trainer and regional delegate. She is also a volunteer at a local food pantry.

Katri Mullaly, Marstons Mills, has 7 years of experience with Girl Scouts as a volunteer assisting with troops, membership and community events.  She is currently on staff as a Level Manager recruiting and training adult volunteers and supporting troops on Cape Cod, Nantucket and MV. Katri is also a member of the Finnish American Society of Cape Cod.

Paula Ruozzi, Braintree, has been a member of the Quincy Service Unit since 1984 and has filled positions as troop leader, Service Unit Coordinator and program specialist, registrar, and area delegate. She is a Master Trainer, and has been a member of the Annual Meeting, Nominating and Realignment Committees.

REGION 2

Maryann Civitello, Newton, is Second Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for a 2008-2010 term.  She is a partner in the law firm of Mintz Levin where she practices in the real estate section.

Roni Doherty, Franklin, is a lifetime member of GSUSA with 30 years of total membership.  She has been a leader for 8 years, a camp counselor, Service Unit Program Coordinator and Administrator, and is currently the Town Cookie Administrator and Town Program Coordinator.  She is a Certified Internal Auditor and is currently employed by Waters Corporation.

Elizabeth Doyle, Needham, is a sophomore in high school and has been a Girl Scout since Daisies.  She has earned the Bronze and Silver Awards and is working on the Gold.  She is a girl member of the Board of Directors and is a regional delegate. GIRL

Kathy Johnson, Marlborough, has been a registered Girl Scout for 25 years. She has been a leader (Brownie through Teen) and the GS Coordinator of her city. Currently, Kathy serves as a first grade Brownie troop leader, a council trainer and the adult recognition chair for her SU.

Elizabeth Milligan Spaulding, Medfield, has been a Girl Scout for over 30 years, is a member of the Gold Award Committee, a Council Trainer, and runs the Medfield Cookie Cupboard.   Beth was a Troop Leader, GSC, and Camp Counselor.  She teaches high school mathematics and advises the Walpole National Honor Society. 

Julie Sibert, Lexington, has been a leader of multiple troops/groups for 13 years and has held a variety of Service Team positions. Julie has been Lexington's Girl Scout Coordinator for 5 years and is currently an Advisor to Lexington's All-Town High School Girl Scout Troop 1775 and the town's Gold/Silver Awards Workshop.  During her 11 girl member years in a military family, traveling and living all over the world, she achieved First Class (Gold Award equivalent). 

Peggy Stevens, Waltham and Westport, is a member of the Board of Directors, and was Second Vice Chair of the council’s founding Board.  She is a former president of the Girl Scout councils of Southeastern Massachusetts and Vermont

REGION 3

Pat Cassidy, Salem, has been a Girl Scout Leader for 32 years. A travel agent by profession, she has loved sharing that knowledge with many troops. She has worn many hats in Scouting, including leader, trainer, consultant, neighborhood registrar, but is most proud of being an advisor to over 25 Gold Award recipients over the years.

Richard Coombs, Arlington, is a recipient of the Thanks Badge and an active Girl Scout for 44 years. He has served on a variety of troop and council committees and as a National Council Delegate. Currently Dick is helping at the Girl Scout Museum at Cedar Hill.

Cheryl Dalton, Wakefield, has been a Girl Scout for 40+ years and is currently the Girl Scout Co-Coordinator for Wakefield.  She has been a troop leader, town and area cookie chair, encampment director, area association and national council session delegate.  Cheryl also serves on her town's Common Ground Outing for Children organizing committee.

Angelica Hahn, Everett, has been a Girl Scout for 12 years, and has earned her Bronze and Silver Awards.  She belongs to the Key Club and the Book Club at her high school. GIRL

Roberta Oliver, Nahant, has been active in Girl Scouting for over 20 years. She is a troop leader, service team member, and neighborhood registrar. Roberta attended the national convention as a delegate in 2005.

Sandra Publicover, Cambridge, has more than 40 years experience in Girl Scouting.  She previously worked in the Boston Office for 20+ years in a variety of positions and has worn many volunteer hats including troop leader and trainer.  She currently volunteers with the Girl Scouting Beyond Bars program.

Chris Sheils, Stoneham, has been in Girl Scout for the last 15 years.  She has served in a number of different capacities for her town and council. Her duties have included being a Leader, Town Encampment Director, GSC, Council Trainer, Area Delegate and Summer Camp Nurse.  She is a member of the board for Stoneham Alliance Against Violence.

REGION 4

Lori Beverage, Lawrence, has been a Girl Scout for 33 years. After 8 years as a girl member, she moved on to Camp Counseling, Program Directing for Day Camp, Troop Leadership and has spent time volunteering as a Council Trainer for both Leadership and Outdoor Camping and Skills.

Lynn Saunders Cutter, Chelmsford, has been a Girl Scout Leader and adult volunteer for 12 years.  Her volunteer positions include service unit manager, council trainer, troop consultant, strategic planning committee, girl advocacy event co-chair, and council delegate.

Rachael Fusco, Littleton, has been a Girl Scout for 25 years, has earned the Silver, Gold and President's Cup Awards.  She is a member of the Presidential Service Recognitions committee and is a recipient of the Lifetime of Service Award.

Katrina Kohlman, Maynard, has been a Girl Scout for 9 years.  She earned the Bronze and Silver Awards, and looks forward to a Girl Scout Destination trip to Austria this summer. She has been a Program Aide at Camp Winnetaska for 2 years. Katrina is a member of the field hockey and softball teams, band, chorus, Spanish Club, yearbook club and radio station at school.  GIRL

Sue Kohlman, Maynard, was involved in Girl Scouts as a girl for 10 years, and is currently a leader of an older girl troop, a troop cookie manager, Service Unit Registrar, and apprentice trainer. Sue works as an engineering manager and is the mother of 2 Girl Scouts, Katrina and Annamarie, and wife to Bill, the Maynard Service Unit Cookie Chair.

Sarah Sargent Leshay, Billerica, has been a Girl Scout for 16 years. She is in her sixth year as a leader and this will be her sixth summer as camp staff. Sarah is also a volunteer trainer for Girl Scouts and coaches the Bedford High School FIRST Robotics team during the school year.

Kathleen Searles, Byfield, has been a troop leader, trainer and service team member during her 25 years as a Girl Scout. She most recently served on the volunteer policies task force of the CRC. 

ALTERNATES

REGION 1: Sue Newell Reilly, Sagamore Beach, has been a Girl Scout for 14 years. She is a leader and member of her service team. She is also involved with volunteer work for the American Cancer Society.

REGION 2: Laura Lane, Marlborough, has been a Girl Scout for 35 years. She has been a troop leader, trainer and service team member. She attended the National Convention in 2002 and served on the Great Escapes committee. She has two grown daughters, both of whom were Girl Scouts and earned the Gold Award.

REGION 3: Barbara Karampalas, Melrose, has been active in Girl Scouting for over 23 years. As an adult, she has served in a variety of capacities, including: leader, regional delegate, national delegate, fund development coordinator, and family partnership chair.

REGION 4: Marie Normoyle, Wilmington, was a Canadian Brownie and Girl Guide as part of her 25 years in Girl Scouting. She has been a leader, trainer, and Gold and Silver Award advisor.

FOR GIRLS

Becky Balk, South Hamilton, is a girl member of the Board of Directors.  She is a ninth grader who loves Girl Scouts, theatre and reading.

Heather Darrah, Topsfield, has been a Girl Scout for 11 years, has earned the Bronze Award, and is currently working on the Gold.  She has been actively competing on the Mock Trial team at her school for the past two years.

Kristen Seeto, Natick, has been a Girl Scout for 5 years and is working on the Silver Award.  She is a member of the Natick High School Symphonic Band and plays field hockey and lacrosse.
